Soft Drink Stain Tips

Removing soft drink spills from carpet.

To handle the stain, start by gently soaking the area with a white paper towel, absorbing as much water as possible. Next, mix 1 or 2 cups of water with a tablespoon of vinegar and spray this solution onto the stain, but avoid soaking the carpet backing.

Soak the area again with the white towel to remove moisture. apply a small amount of detergent(1 or 4 cups of dish soap with 1 quart of water) and gently soak. If the stains remain then keep doing the blotting again and again until it fades.

Finally rinse the part with lukewarm water with a spray bottle, blot, and mist again without blotting. Place a folded paper towel with a weight on top of it like brick or rock and let it dry. Repeat if full absorption is necessary again.
